Electronics Test Engineer (Contract) – Microelectronics / PCB

The Role
We are recruiting for a Contract Electronics Test Engineer to support an advanced Engineering business in Dewsbury.
This role focuses on the validation and testing of electronic components and micro-electronic systems, supporting new product introduction, R&D, and product improvement programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support validation test plans for electronic components and assemblies
- Execute complex, long-duration tests (thermal, mechanical, and electrical stress testing)
- Set up, maintain, and operate laboratory test equipment to industry standards
- Conduct root cause analysis (including DFMEA) for component and system failures
- Analyse PCB circuitry and micro-electronic systems
- Use tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electronic trace software
- Produce clear, detailed technical test reports and documentation
Ideal Candidate
- Degree (BEng or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or related field
- Strong background in microelectronics, PCB design, or electronic applications (typically 5+ years)
- Experience with electronics testing, validation, and failure analysis
