Engineering Supervisor

4 on, 4 off, Days & Nights

£50,000 - £52,000

We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Supervisor to join an established food manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a hands on leadership role, responsible for managing a team of Multi Skilled Engineers and ensuring the site maintains continuous production through effective preventative maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background alongside previous experience supervising or leading an engineering team within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Multi Skilled Engineers on shift
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities
• Respond effectively to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
• Provide technical and behavioural support to engineers and apprentices
• Drive preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Act as a technical resource for engineering projects and specifications
• Analyse maintenance and production data to identify areas for improvement
• Promote best practice across the engineering function
• Ensure all engineering activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures

The Candidate

• Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering qualification
• Previous experience in a maintenance engineering environment
• Experience leading or supervising an engineering team
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding knowledge
• PLC knowledge and operational awareness
• Domestic wiring experience
• Boiler / steam experience would be advantageous
• Experience with continuous improvement and Lean methodologies
• Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills
• Organised, disciplined and able to work under pressure
• Proactive approach with the ability to work on own initiative

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineering Supervisor looking for a permanent leadership position within a well-established manufacturing environment, offering £50,000 - £52,000 on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.
