Salary: MPS to UPS (Fringe pay scale)

Ethos Education is recruiting an English Teacher for a secondary school in Hertfordshire. This is a permanent role starting in September 2026, suitable for an experienced English Teacher or an Early Career Teacher.

The school has a strong academic culture and a calm working environment, with clear routines and high expectations balanced by supportive pastoral systems. English is a well established subject within the school, with shared planning and a collaborative approach across the department.

The role

• Teaching English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
• Opportunity to contribute to KS5 depending on experience
• Preparing students for GCSE English examinations
• Delivering structured and engaging lessons
• Working within a collaborative English department

The candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Degree in English or a related subject
• Strong subject knowledge
• Confident teaching KS3 and KS4 English
• Able to work well within a team
