English Teacher – Derby, DE1 (QTS Required)

Location:  Derby, DE1
Contract Type: Full time/Temp to perm
Start Date: September 2026
Pay Rate: £130–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Qualification: QTS required
Experience: Minimum 6 months’ teaching experience in a UK secondary school

Overview:
Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated English Teacher for a full-time position starting September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled English educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS4 and potentially English KS5.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver the KS3 & KS4 English curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced
• Plan, prepare, and assess English lessons in line with department policy
• Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions
• Contribute to department improvement planning ENGLISH
• Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents’ evenings as required

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching ENGLISH experience in a UK secondary setting
• Is passionate about education and student achievement
• Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
