Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Middlesbrough

Start Date: Immediate Start / September 2026

Salary: Paid to Scale (£160 - £250 per day)

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school based in Middlesbrough, who are looking to appoint an English Teacher on a long-term basis with permanent opportunities available for the right English Teacher. Rated ‘GOOD’ by OFSTED, the school prides itself on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The school is looking for a driven English Teacher to teach across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4. The successful English Teacher will be expected to take on full teaching responsibilities including planning and marking, attending parents evenings and delivering engaging English lessons that support student progress and attainment.

The successful English Teacher will have:

• QTS with an English specialism
• Experience teaching English across KS3 / KS4
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Experience planning and marking lessons
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive and adaptable approach to teaching
