English Teacher - Independent School

We are working in partnership with a highly regarded independent school in Northampton seeking an outstanding English Teacher to join their successful department from September 2026. • Teach engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
• Deliver a broad and stimulating curriculum encompassing both English Language and English Literature
• Foster a genuine appreciation for reading, writing, critical thinking, and effective communication
• Encourage intellectual curiosity through the study of classic and contemporary texts
• Differentiate learning effectively to meet the needs of academically able and diverse learners
• Monitor student progress and provide high-quality feedback to support excellent outcomes
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, clubs, trips, and events
• Work collaboratively within a successful and well-resourced English department

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
• A strong academic background in English Language, English Literature, or a related subject
• Experience teaching English at secondary level, including GCSE and ideally A-Level
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young people
• High expectations for student achievement and behaviour
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A commitment to contributing positively to school life beyond the classroom
