Salary: £32,776–£47,839+
Contract: Full-Time / Permanent

About the Role

Supply Desk are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and inspirational Secondary English Teacher to join a successful and supportive school in the Pinner area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5. You will play an important role in developing students' literacy, communication, analytical and critical-thinking skills, while encouraging a genuine passion for English Language and Literature.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Teach engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential Key Stage 5 teaching.
• Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners.
• Develop students' reading, writing, literacy and analytical skills.
• Inspire students to engage with English Language and Literature.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and attendance.
• Support students in reaching their academic and personal potential.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A degree in English, English Literature or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching English.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• The ability to motivate, challenge and inspire young people.
• A creative and engaging approach to teaching and learning.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive English department.
