Estimator – Voids & Public Sector Refurbishment

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join a growing commercial team, with a strong focus on Voids and Public Sector Framework / Refurbishment projects across the residential, healthcare and education sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with a solid understanding of refurbishment and maintenance works who enjoys working on a varied tender pipeline and wants to play a key role in securing and delivering high-quality projects.

You will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive and commercially viable estimates, working closely with our commercial, operational, procurement and delivery teams from initial enquiry through to tender submission and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and tenders for voids, refurbishment and planned works.

• Review drawings, specifications, schedules of works and tender documentation.

• Carry out detailed quantity take-offs and pricing.

• Obtain, assess and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.

• Price labour, materials, plant, preliminaries and subcontract packages.

• Identify risks, exclusions, opportunities and potential value-engineering solutions.

• Ensure tenders are commercially competitive while maintaining appropriate margins.

• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to clarify tender requirements.

• Prepare tender returns and supporting documentation within strict deadlines.

• Maintain accurate estimating records and cost information.

• Support the commercial team with project handovers following successful tenders.

• Monitor market rates and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.

• Contribute to the continued development of estimating processes, systems and cost databases.
