Facilities Maintenance Engineer

📍 Consett 

We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team at our Consett site. 

💷 £45,000 per annum 

Hours:  Monday - Thursday 8.00am-17.00pm / Friday 8.00am-1.00pm

Purpose of role and key accountabilities:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering and facilities team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving the site’s facilities, buildings, plant and associated services. You will play a key role in ensuring that all facilities and equipment remain safe, reliable, compliant and operational, while supporting the wider engineering team to minimise downtime and maintain a high standard of workplace facilities.

This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, takes ownership of their work and can work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Desirable Experience:

* Experience in some or all of the following would be advantageous:

* Electrical distribution and industrial electrical systems.

* Mechanical plant and machinery.

* Recognised safety qualifications – IOSH / NEBOSH

* HVAC and ventilation systems.

* Compressed air systems.

* Pumps and water systems.

* Building management systems (BMS).

* Fire alarm and fire protection systems.

* Emergency lighting.

* Generators and UPS systems.

* Energy management and energy-saving initiatives.

* Contractor management. (RAMS)

* Permit-to-work systems.

* Statutory compliance and inspection regimes.

* CMMS / maintenance management systems.

The ideal candidate will be a multi-skilled engineer with a strong facilities background, who is comfortable working across electrical, mechanical and building-services systems.

You will have a practical approach to engineering, good fault-finding skills and the ability to prioritise tasks according to safety, operational risk and business requirements.
