Sue Ross Legal are looking for a Family Law Paralegal ready to step into a fast‑paced Family Law team where no two days look the same. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of case progression — supporting fee‑earners, working directly with clients, and playing a key part in preparing matters for court. As a Family Law Paralegal, you will play a key role in progressing client matters efficiently and professionally. You’ll be involved in all aspects of file management, client communication, court documentation and case preparation, ensuring the highest standards of service at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- File administration, including opening files and preparing client care documents
- Liaising with clients and taking detailed notes during meetings
- Preparing and updating court bundles and other court documents
- Drafting initial and interim court applications
- Preparing position statements, witness statements and legal correspondence
- Briefing Counsel and instructing experts
- Preparing legal documents such as Divorce Applications, Financial Statements and D81 Statements
- Uploading documents and progressing matters via the HMCTS Portal
- Undertaking legal research
- Diarising key dates, deadlines and court directions
- Assisting at court hearings and preparing attendance notes
- Delivering exceptional client service at all times
- Taking ownership of client queries and ensuring timely follow‑up
- Communicating professionally with clients, other parties, courts and institutions
- Attending training courses to support your professional development
- Supporting marketing initiatives and occasionally attending networking events
- Preparing bills using Leap case management software
- Completing court documents and asset schedules (Word and Excel)

- Keen to develop your expertise in Family Law
