Field Service Engineer - Multi Skilled
£40,000 - £43,000 OTE c£60,000 + Pension, 33 Days Holiday

Field Service Engineer - Multi Skilled - The Role:
- Installation, commissioning, servicing and overhaul of hydraulic and mechanical maritime handling systems
- Fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic systems including HPUs, pumps, motors, valves, cylinders and manifolds
- Electrical fault finding on motors, control panels, sensors, limit switches, solenoids and safety circuits
- Basic PLC diagnostics (Ladder Logic), including monitoring I/O and supporting control system troubleshooting
- Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting of VFD-controlled systems
- Interpretation of hydraulic schematics, electrical drawings and mechanical documentation
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance both onshore and offshore
- Produce detailed service reports and technical documentation using MS Office
- Support workshop activities including builds, inspections, testing and documentation when not on site
- Work independently in remote or offshore environments, managing complex multi-discipline faults
- Act as a professional company representative, maintaining strong client relationships and high safety standards
- Regular UK and international travel with extended periods working away from home
Field Service Engineer - Multi Skilled - The Person:
- Strong background in hydraulics and mechanical engineering, ideally within marine or heavy-duty environments
- Good electrical fault-finding skills on industrial contro systems
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of PLC systems (especially Ladder Logic)
- Familiarity with VFDs and electro-hydraulic integrated systems
- Ability to re and interpret hydraulic, electrical and mechanica drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach to fault finding
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in high-pressure or remote environments
- Flexible and willing to travel extensively, including offshore work and time away from home
- Safety-conscious with a proactive attitude to risk management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong reporting and documentation skills
Located in Shropshire, this role would be commutable from Telford, Shrewsbury, Bridgenorth and other surrounding areas.
