Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Field Service Engineer to join our growing operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working with automated equipment, and making a tangible impact on operational performance.

You will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting and improving critical production and processing equipment across our sites, ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime.

Field Service Engineer's Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned PPM in line with maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on operational equipment.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure accurate stock control.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Contribute ideas that enhance safety, productivity, sustainability and operational efficiency.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise disruption to site operations.
• Investigate root causes of recurring faults and implement preventative solutions.
• Monitor equipment performance and follow up on completed repairs to ensure long-term effectiveness and work closely with operational teams to maximise machine availability and output.
• Provide guidance and practical training to site supervisors and operators on the safe and effective use of equipment.
• Support site projects, equipment upgrades and installation activities when required.
• Maximising equipment uptime and availability.
• Reducing maintenance-related downtime and costs.
• Delivering high-quality operational output.
• Supporting a safe and compliant working environment.
• Driving continuous improvement across engineering operations.

Field Service Engineer's Qualifications & Experience

• Electrical Engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent) or significant relevant industry experience.
• Experience maintaining industrial, manufacturing, processing or automated equipment.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical and control systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is desirable.
• Understanding of automation and process control systems would be advantageous.

Field Service Engineer's Benefits

Salary up to £42K (DOE), Company car or car allowance, 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, Birthday leave, Employer pension contribution of 4%, Private medical insurance & Life assurance cover of four times annual salary.
