Job Description:
Elevation Recruitment Group's Engineering Services Division are supporting a specialist machinery service company to recruit a Field Service Engineer to work at their site in West Yorkshire and attend customer sites throughout the UK.
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, retrofitting, and repairing machine tools and large industrial CNC machinery at customer manufacturing sites, ensuring the equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities for the Field Service Engineer include:
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Performing corrective and preventive maintenance
- Precision adjustments and calibrations
- Producing accurate documentation for service activities, parts usage, and recommendations to maintain the customer’s machinery in the best condition
Qualifications and Experience required for the Field Service Engineer:
- Strong field service experience with industrial machinery or machine tools, including on-site installation, commissioning, and repair
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset with the ability to diagnose faults under time constraints
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and build long-term client relationships
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic engineering
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics, and to use diagnostic tools and measuring equipment safely and accurately
- Comfort working independently on customer sites and as part of a team on more complex projects
- Valid Full UK driver’s license (preferably clean) and willingness to travel locally and regionally as required, including staying away from home
