Job Description:
Futures Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Site Services Engineer to join our client's engineering team, supporting the maintenance and reliability of critical electrical infrastructure across their site operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong experience working on transformers, electrical distribution systems, and associated plant equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities and reactive fault-finding to ensure maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on transformers, switchgear, substations, and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Respond to electrical breakdowns and equipment failures in a timely and effective manner.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on transformers, HV/LV electrical systems, and distribution equipment.
- Support site reliability by identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
- Conduct routine inspections and condition monitoring of electrical assets.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant documentation.
- Liaise with contractors and specialist service providers when required.
- Participate in site shutdowns, project work, and infrastructure upgrades.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Site Services Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong background in electrical infrastructure maintenance, including transformers and power distribution systems.
- Experience carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
- Ability to diagnose and rectify electrical faults within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of HV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, and electrical control systems.
- Qualified in Electrical Engineering (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Understanding of electrical safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- HV Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience.
- Experience working within heavy industry, utilities, energy, manufacturing, or data centre environments.
- Familiarity with condition monitoring techniques and asset management principles.
