Laser Cutting Service Engineer
Location: UK-wide
Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 (DOE) + overtime + door-to-door travel pay

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Laser Cutting Service Engineer to join a leading manufacturer and service provider of industrial laser cutting systems. This is a field-based role covering installation, maintenance, breakdown support, and servicing of high-precision laser cutting machinery across a range of manufacturing environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong electrical, mechanical, and CNC/laser experience to join a growing business with strong technical backing and ongoing investment in technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service industrial laser cutting machines
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and software faults
- Provide reactive breakdown support across customer sites
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Work with CNC controls, laser optics, and automation systems
- Provide on-site technical support and customer training
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately
- Liaise with engineering and technical support teams
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Engineer in CNC, laser cutting, or similar capital equipment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience with industrial automation or machine tools
- Understanding of CNC systems and controls (e.g. Siemens, Fanuc, or similar)
- Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel nationally and stay overnight when required
Desirable
- Experience with Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, Mazak or similar laser systems
- Background in machine tools, fabrication equipment, or CNC service
- Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge
- Field service engineering experience in a customer-facing role
