Fire Alarm Service Engineer

Cambridge | University of Cambridge | £33,000

We’re recruiting an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join the team at the University of Cambridge, maintaining and servicing fire alarm systems across its buildings.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong technical skills looking for a role focused on fire alarm servicing, maintenance and fault finding.

The Role

• Service and maintain a range of fire alarm systems.

• Carry out routine PPM and inspections.

• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs.

• Complete remedial works to ensure systems remain fully operational.

• Ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards, including BS5839.

• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

• Liaise with site teams to minimise disruption and ensure high standards of service.

Requirements

• Previous experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems.

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.

• Good knowledge of conventional and addressable systems.

• Understanding of BS5839 regulations.

• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Professional and customer-focused approach.

FIA qualifications and experience with leading fire alarm manufacturers would be advantageous.
