Job Title: Fire Engineering Lead Technician (Multi Skilled)
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Multi Skilled Engineer to join the team located in London.
The successful candidate will assist with the scheduling, planning and co-ordination of essential Fire Risk Assessment works and other small works, and complete remediations via self-delivery, or via our dedicated teams, or by 3rd party contractors, and support the management of contractual and legal compliance.
Role Summary:
- Work in collaboration with sites operational teams, Authorised and Responsible Persons, client, contractors, Asset and Performance managers, auditors and others to support the technical delivery of services
- Create and support in the generation and updating of reports, and update CBRE and Client systems e.g. Logbooks, Hazard Reports, risk registers
- Ensure all persons, parties, departments, safety groups, etc. involved in or impacted by these works are informed, prepared, co-ordinated and have authorised their completion
- Investigations to peripheral fire and safety systems, such as door hold backs; door closers; emergency lighting, smoke extract systems, fire suppression systems, etc
- Manual tasks such as replacement and fitting of ceiling tiles where they form part of the Fire Strategies' Compartmentalization, replacement of Emergency Lighting units / batteries
- Installation and modifications of wayfinding signage, including illuminated Fire Exit signage
- Completion of Fire Alarm isolations, including necessary permits, and managing reinstatement thereafter
- Creation of quotations for works requiring 3rd party support, either via external contractor, or by internal chargeable activity
- Supervision of contractors to include Permit To Work management, Quality Assurance checks, acceptance of certifications
- Write and follow Risk Assessments and be available to question any issues which arise from them safely and accurately
- Completion of the required documentation as specified with the requirements of all rules and legislation
- Use Mobile Devices to accurately project and complete any works from the CAFM Maintenance System
- Use of emailing / calendars to plan your daily work requirements so that all tasks are completed efficiently.
- To work overtime as and when the business requires, this may include nights and weekends to which notice may not always be given
- Perform adhoc duties as and when required
Experience Required:
- A Recognised or Time Served Apprenticeship
- Electrical Competences / Qualifications to a minimum or equivalent to City and Guilds 236 Pt 1-2 / 2365 / 2357
- Electrical qualifications to 18th Edition
- Good multi skilled ability
- Ability to fault find
- Ability to manage contractors
- Able to write Risk and Method Statements
- Able to understand and write Permits
- Operational understanding of Fire Alarm Systems, including isolations, etc
- Installation and maintenance of Emergency Lighting Systems, including testing regimes
- Understanding of Compartmentalization in respect to fire containment
- Understanding of Sprinkler systems and Hydrant / Riser operation and maintenance
- Proficient use of Microsoft suite of ICT software
