Job Description:

Enjoy flexible working with this interim Fire Safety Officer position, with the opportunity to become permanent. Based within the social housing sector, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in maintaining fire safety compliance and protecting residents across a housing portfolio.

As the Fire Safety Officer, you will be:

• Carrying out fire safety inspections across social housing properties.
• Completing fire door inspections and identifying defects and remedial requirements.
• Monitoring and managing Fire Risk Assessment actions through to completion.
• Inspecting passive fire protection measures and identifying compliance issues.
• Liaising with external contractors and fire safety specialists to coordinate remedial works.
• Monitoring fire safety remedial works to ensure they are completed to the required standards.
• Supporting audits and ensuring properties remain compliant with relevant fire safety requirements.
• Working closely with housing, property and compliance teams to maintain resident safety.

 
Fire Safety Officer – Qualifications / Experience:

• Experience working as a Fire Safety Officer or Building Safety Officer.
• Previous social housing or residential property experience.
• Knowledge of Fire Risk Assessments and remedial action management.
• Strong understanding of fire safety compliance and resident safety.
• Relevant fire safety qualification such as Level 3 Fire Safety or equivalent.
