Fire & Security Project Manager – Division Development
Location: Manchester / North West
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE + benefits
Type: Full-time, Permanent
I’m working with a growing business that is looking to bring its Fire & Security offering in-house, and they’re looking for an experienced Fire & Security Project Manager to help build and develop the new division.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than just a Project Manager role and would like the chance to have real ownership in developing a department from the ground up.
The Role
- You’ll work closely with senior management and be involved across the full project lifecycle, including:
- Managing Fire & Security projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
- Fire alarm system design and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Preparing estimates and quotations.
- Planning labour, materials, procurement and project programmes.
- Managing costs, margins and client expectations.
- Coordinating installations, testing and commissioning.
- Producing project documentation, drawings, certificates and handover information.
- Working with manufacturers, suppliers, clients and consultants.
- Helping develop the processes, systems and accreditations needed to establish the in-house division.
- Providing technical support and helping identify new business opportunities.
About You
- We’re looking for someone with solid experience within the Fire Alarm / Fire & Security industry, ideally with:
- Strong project management experience from design through to completion.
- Good knowledge of BS 5839 and relevant Fire & Security standards.
- Fire alarm design and/or design management experience.
- Experience with estimating, quotations and procurement.
- Good commercial awareness around project costs and margins.
- Experience dealing with clients, consultants and contractors.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Experience with BAFE, BS 7671, access control, CCTV, intruder alarms and manufacturers such as Advanced, Kentec, Notifier, Morley, C-TEC, Hochiki, Apollo or
- Gent would be advantageous.
- Experience of helping to establish or develop a Fire & Security department would be particularly beneficial.
