Job Description:

FLT Counterbalance Driver / Yard Operative

Our client, based in Swadlincote, is looking for an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver / Yard Operative to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis.

Working as part of a busy team, you will be responsible for safely moving heavy housebuilding products around the yard and supporting general site operations.

Main Duties FLT Counterbalance Driver

• Operating a counterbalance forklift in the yard
• Moving heavy housebuilding products and materials
• Picking orders and preparing products for dispatch
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards
• Providing general support around the plant and yard
• Reading measurements using the metric system, including centimetres and millimetres

Requirements FLT Counterbalance Driver

• A valid and accredited **FLT Counterbalance certificate is essential**
• Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift
• Ability to work safely when handling heavy products
• Ability to read metric measurements, including cm and mm
• Flexibility to undertake additional training and operate other types of forklift equipment

Working Hours

Shifts:

Vacancies available on morning and afternoon fixed shifts, offering 40 hours paid per week.

• Morning shifts: 07:00am to 03:45pm Monday to Friday (fixed shift)
• Afternoon shifts: 3:00pm to 11:00pm Monday to Friday (fixed shift)

Pay and Benefits

• Starting rate of **£14.37 per hour**
• Potential increases to **£15.41 and £16.45 per hour** for suitable candidates. Pay increases available following successful training and upskilling on additional forklift types
• Overtime paid at:
• 1.25x Monday to Friday
• 1.5x Saturday
• 2x Sunday

This role may involve handling very heavy products, so a good level of physical fitness is required.
