Job Description:

Novara People are recruiting for an FLT Driver / Laminate Picker to join a well-established and busy distribution business based in Tingley, WF3.

Our client is a major supplier of timber, panels, laminates and decorative surface products, supplying customers across the construction, manufacturing and interiors industries.

This is a hybrid role combining FLT driving with order picking, so we're looking for someone who is happy to be hands-on rather than spending the full shift on a forklift.

Due to the large product range, there is a 3–6 month training period on the day shift before moving permanently onto nights. You'll be trained on the different products, picking processes, locations and systems to ensure you're fully confident before moving onto the night shift.

Duties
Picking laminate products accurately against customer orders
Operating an FLT to move and locate stock
Picking products both manually and using the FLT
Locating the correct products within a large and varied stock range
Checking product codes, quantities and specifications carefully
Preparing orders ready for dispatch
Loading and unloading stock where required
Using warehouse systems and paperwork to process orders
Handling large and potentially heavy products safely
Checking products for damage before dispatch
Maintaining accurate stock locations
Working at a good pace while maintaining accuracy
Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
Following all site health & safety procedures

You must be available to work the day shift for the first 3–6 months while completing your training. Once fully trained, you will move onto the permanent Sunday to Thursday, 9:30pm – 6:00am night shift, with an increase in pay.

Skills:

Previous FLT experience is required
Previous picking or warehouse experience
Comfortable working in a hybrid FLT and manual picking role
Good attention to detail – there is a large product range to learn
Confident reading product codes, pick sheets and order information
Comfortable with manual handling
Reliable and able to work independently
Good communication skills
Willing to complete 3–6 months of training on the day shift
Must be able to permanently work Sunday to Thursday nights once training is
