Location: Benton, Newcastle upon Tyne
Pay: £14.57 per hour (approximately £28,411 per year)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent from day one
Shift pattern: Rotating days, twilights and nights
Essential: Valid Counterbalance FLT licence and full UK driving licence

The Role

As a Counterbalance FLT Driver, you will play an important part in keeping materials and finished goods moving safely and efficiently throughout the site.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
• Moving, positioning and organising goods throughout the factory
• Loading and unloading vehicles in the yard
• Ensuring materials are delivered to the correct production and storage areas
• Completing all relevant paperwork accurately and in accordance with company procedures
• Following site processes, safe working practices and current health and safety policies
• Undertaking manual handling duties, including the movement of heavy goods
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the working area
• Supporting general factory and yard duties when required
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production and operational targets

About You

We are looking for an experienced and dependable FLT Driver who takes pride in working safely and contributing to a successful team.

To be considered, you must have:

• A valid Counterbalance FLT licence
• Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck in a warehouse, factory or production environment
• A valid full UK driving licence
• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety
• The ability to complete manual handling and other physically demanding duties
• The flexibility to work a rotating day, twilight and night-shift pattern
• A willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• A positive, adaptable and proactive approach
• Excellent punctuality, reliability and work ethic
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
