Freight Warehouse General Manager

E-Commerce & Fulfilment Operations

We’re partnering with a growing and ambitious logistics business to recruit an experienced Freight Warehouse General Manager to lead a busy e-commerce and fulfilment operation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine impact, take ownership of site performance, and play a key role in driving operational excellence across the business.

This role is perfect for a strong people leader who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the front, and creating a culture built around accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.

You’ll have full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the operation, overseeing fulfilment, customer performance, people development, site profitability and operational delivery in to stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all day-to-day warehouse and fulfilment operations
• Create a positive, open and safety-first working environment
• Drive operational performance across productivity, service, inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction
• Take ownership of site KPIs, budgets and overall P&L performance
• Maximise warehouse space utilisation and operational efficiency
• Lead, motivate and develop warehouse teams to achieve operational targets
• Oversee inbound, storage, picking, packing and dispatch activities
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement across all areas of the operation
• Build strong onsite relationships with customers and key stakeholders
• Ensure Health & Safety standards and compliance requirements are maintained at all times
• Support succession planning and talent development across the site
• Manage staffing levels, shift planning and employee performance
• Identify operational challenges quickly and implement effective solutions
• Work collaboratively with wider business functions to improve service and operational delivery
• Maintain a clean, organised and high-performing warehouse environment

We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially aware operational leader who can inspire teams, challenge processes and deliver results.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience within a Warehouse Manager, Site Manager or Fulfilment leadership role
• A background within e-commerce, retail or high-volume distribution environments
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Experience managing operational KPIs, budgets and site performance
• A solid understanding of warehouse systems and fulfilment operations
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
• A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety and warehouse compliance standards
• The ability to perform under pressure within a fast-moving operation

Logistics, supply chain or management qualifications would be advantageous, although strong operational experience is equally valued.
