Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack AI Engineer to join the team on a contract basis. This is a hybrid delivery role combining hands-on development of GenAI-powered applications with a strong focus on training delivery and product enablement. The role involves building production-grade AI solutions while also upskilling teams, supporting adoption, and maintaining existing applications. The ideal candidate is technically strong, a confident communicator, and passionate about helping others adopt new technologies. Core Skills & Technologies • Full-stack development • Generative AI (GenAI) • Agentic systems • AWS infrastructure (Lambda, Step Functions) • Python, React, REST APIs • SQL / NoSQL GenAI & Agentic Systems (Primary Focus) • AWS Bedrock: ○ Foundation models ○ Multi-agent workflows ○ Knowledge bases ○ Model evaluation and guardrails • MCP (Model Context Protocol) server integration • RAG pipelines: ○ Embeddings, vector databases ○ Chunking and parsing strategies • Fine-tuning models for performance and efficiency • Experience using LLMs for complex document processing Full-Stack Development (Essential) • Python: ○ FastAPI, async programming ○ Authentication, multi-threading • React: ○ Streaming UIs ○ Real-time chat interfaces ○ Enterprise applications • REST APIs, WebSockets, server-sent events • SQL & NoSQL: ○ DynamoDB, PostgreSQL • Version control and testing AWS Infrastructure • Services: ○ Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions ○ EventBridge, Bedrock, S3 ○ DynamoDB, CloudWatch, SQS • Security: ○ Cognito, IAM, OAuth 2.0, JWT • Infrastructure as Code (CDK) • CI/CD pipelines Key Focus of the Role • Build and deliver AI-based products and tools • Implement AI solutions across the organisation • Work closely with data centre operations and infrastructure • Enable and train teams on AI tools and systems • Drive adoption of new technologies across teams Technical Expectations • Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure and trade-offs • Experience designing scalable, production-grade systems • Ability to operate in complex, data-driven environments • Capability to identify and implement optimal solutions • Focus on efficiency, cost reduction, and optimisation Team & Collaboration • Core team: ~10 people • Partnering teams: ~10 people • Work primarily with internal stakeholders • Limited direct customer interaction • Strong communication skills required • Highly collaborative environment Work Environment • Fast-paced team within the Global Processing Organisation • Hybrid working: ○ ~1–2 days per week in office ○ Flexible approach (not strict on days) Candidate Profile • 5+ years software engineering experience • 2+ years in production AI/ML development • Strong AWS experience • Background in development (ideal for those transitioning toward broader ownership roles) • Passionate about AI and emerging technologies • Strong communication (technical & non-technical) • Self-directed, proactive, and collaborative
