Verification & Validation (V&V) & Certification Engineer

Our Systems Engineering team is expanding to support the continued evolution of a complex, mission-critical defence capability. Working on both domestic and international programmes, you'll play a key role in ensuring the system meets operational, regulatory, and customer requirements while supporting future capability development and export opportunities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Verification & Validation (V&V) and Certification Engineer to support the development, certification, and delivery of a sophisticated defence system across UK and international programmes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing technical evidence, supporting verification and validation activities, and demonstrating compliance against system requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with requirements management, and the ability to assess complex certification evidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a certification team to capture, review, and assess technical evidence in support of customer deliveries.
• Conduct technical investigations and support formal certification activities.
• Review technical documentation and functional evidence.
• Review and agree Design Verification Plans (DVPs).
• Support design reconciliation activities associated with design change and obsolescence.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering.
• Identify verification gaps, track issues, and support corrective actions.
• Prepare and review compliance documentation, verification reports, and certification evidence.
• Drive process improvements through efficient ways of working and automation.

What We're Looking For

• Experience using IBM Rational DOORS Classic.
• Proven ability to analyse technical evidence and assess compliance against requirements.
• Knowledge of Verification & Validation (V&V) processes and methodologies.
• Experience preparing compliance documentation and certification evidence.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.

Working Pattern: Hybrid working, typically 3 days per week onsite due to programme requirements
