Job Description:

We are recruiting for an experienced General Foreman to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major AMP8 wastewater scheme in Liverpool.

The initial project is a technically challenging Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) scheme involving significant reinforced concrete and associated civil engineering works. We are particularly interested in speaking with Foremen who have a strong background across general civils, drainage, reinforced concrete and earthworks, ideally with previous experience within the water sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate multiple gangs and day-to-day site activities.

• Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

• Coordinate manpower, materials, plant and equipment across site.

• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information for site teams.

• Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inspections.

• Ensure RAMS are communicated, understood and fully implemented.

• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.

• Record and report near misses, incidents and changing site conditions.

• Work closely with the wider project team to resolve issues and maintain progress.

• Maintain accurate site records, including submission of timesheets.

• Support and develop junior members of the site team.

The Successful Candidate

• Previous General Foreman / Foreman experience within civil engineering.

• Strong experience across general civils, drainage, RC and earthworks.

• Water/wastewater experience would be highly advantageous.

• Experience within highways and infrastructure environments will also be considered.

• Confident managing multiple gangs and coordinating site resources.

• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications and construction methodology.

• A strong HSQE mindset and track record of maintaining high site standards.

• Good problem-solving, communication and organisational skills.

• Ability to work effectively alongside Site Managers, Engineers and the wider project team.
