Job Description:

Our clients based close to Havant have an exciting opportunity for a Goods in Operative to join their growing team.

The Goods in Operative plays a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials into the manufacturing facility. Responsible for receiving, inspecting, and accurately booking in deliveries, the role ensures all raw materials, components, and consumables are recorded and stored correctly to maintain production efficiency and product traceability.

The Goods in Operative will maintain the quality, accuracy and reliability of the materials supply chain within our clients busy manufacturing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Receiving and booking in

• Receive incoming deliveries of raw materials, components, packaging, and consumables.

• Check all deliveries against purchase orders, delivery notes, and quality standards.

• Accurately record goods received using Sage 50 and update inventory levels in real time.

• Label incoming stock clearly with batch codes, dates, and storage locations to ensure full traceability.

• Communicate promptly with the purchasing and production teams regarding shortages, over-deliveries, or damaged goods.

Materials Handling & Storage

• Safely unload vehicles using Counterbalance and Reach Forklifts, following site safety protocols.

• Store goods in designated warehouse areas, ensuring materials are easily accessible and properly segregated.

• Rotate stock as required ensuring materials with expiry dates are managed correctly.

• Maintain accurate physical and system-based stock levels.

Quality & Compliance

• Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and raise non-conformance reports as needed.

• Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation and traceability records.

• Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards at all times

Coordination & Teamwork

• Liaise with production, planning, and procurement teams to ensure materials are available for manufacturing schedules.

• Assist with periodic stock counts and reconciliation.

• Support outbound goods and general warehouse duties when required.

• Proactively contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives within the warehouse and production support functions
