Graduate Mechanical Engineer

£28,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Permanent, Full Time

The Opportunity:

A specialist engineering and compliance business within the commercial vehicle sector is looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join its small team in Halesowen.

This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical or Automotive Engineering graduate looking to start their career in a varied role covering CAD, engineering projects, vehicle compliance and technical documentation.

Full training will be provided.

The Role:

You will support engineering-led projects relating to commercial vehicles, working with customers, technical specialists and regulatory authorities to ensure vehicles meet required technical, quality and legislative standards.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• Some experience using CAD software.
• A good understanding of engineering drawings and mechanical principles.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and IT skills.
• A genuine interest in engineering, and developing specialist technical knowledge.

Key duties will include:

• Producing and amending CAD drawings.
• Supporting commercial vehicle engineering and compliance projects.
• Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and vehicle information.
• Assisting with vehicle type approval, certification and compliance.
• Liaising with customers, technical services and approval authorities.
• Preparing and checking technical documentation.
• Carrying out engineering checks, calculations and project administration.
• Using AI-enabled systems and processes to support technical and administrative work.
