Lynx Employment Services are looking for a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a busy operational team on a long-term agency contract.
This is a hands-on outdoor role involving grass cutting, landscaping and general grounds maintenance, working alongside established teams and volunteers to keep public spaces maintained to a high standard.
The role will involve operating a range of powered and manual grounds maintenance equipment, as well as driving vehicles which may include trailers and ride-on machinery. Duties will include:

• Grass cutting and general grounds maintenance
• Landscaping and maintaining outdoor/public areas
• Operating ride-on and pedestrian machinery and hand-held equipment
• Carrying out basic daily checks on vehicles and machinery
• Working safely in all weather conditions
• Following Health & Safety procedures
• Working effectively as part of a team and using your own initiative
• Providing a professional and courteous service when dealing with members of the public

You will need:

Previous grounds maintenance experience Experience using relevant grounds maintenance tools and machinery A valid UK driving licence Good understanding of Health & Safety A reliable, flexible and hardworking approach Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work Basic DBS or willingness to obtain one

Grounds maintenance experience, safe working knowledge and the ability to operate relevant tools and equipment are all specifically identified as essential in the council profile. This is a particularly good long-term opportunity: work is expected to continue for 12 months or more, with the possibility of becoming permanent for candidates who demonstrate reliability, commitment and a strong work ethic.
I would advertise this under Grounds Maintenance Operative / Grounds Maintenance Driver rather than just Grounds Maintenance Operative, because the driving licence is an essential requirement and including “Driver” should help filter out unsuitable applicants.
