Head of Commercial

South East London

£120,000 - £140,000 + Bonus + Profit Share + Long-Term Career Progression

Are you an experienced commercial leader looking for the opportunity to play a key role within a successful, growing business where your contribution genuinely makes an impact?

Work with a well-established contractor delivering projects across London and the Home Counties within the infrastructure, utilities, specialist access solutions and construction sectors. With a turnover of £15m-£20m, a strong order book and long-standing relationships with major blue-chip clients, the business continues to invest heavily in its future growth.

Due to succession planning, they are now looking to appoint a Head of Commercial to oversee and develop the commercial function, providing strategic leadership whilst remaining involved in the day-to-day commercial management of key contracts.

The Role

• Lead and develop the commercial team.
• Take ownership of the commercial performance of multiple contracts and business units.
• Oversee cost management, valuations, forecasting, variations and final accounts.
• Support senior leadership with commercial strategy and business growth initiatives.
• Drive profitability across both existing and new projects.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Mentor and develop junior commercial staff.

About You

• Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role.
• Strong background within infrastructure, utilities, scaffolding, construction, civil engineering or related sectors.
• Commercially astute with a track record of improving business performance.
• Experienced managing teams and developing people.
• Comfortable operating strategically whilst remaining hands-on when required.
• Strong contractual and negotiation skills.
