Head of Projects / Senior Contracts Manager – Commercial Flooring

Location: Brentwood, Essex – projects across London and the South East
Salary: £75,000–£95,000 DOE + package

Are you an experienced Contracts Manager within commercial flooring, ready to take on a broader leadership role? Or an established Head of Projects / Senior Contracts Manager looking to help shape the operations of a growing contractor?

An established commercial flooring contractor is looking for an experienced operational leader to oversee its expanding project portfolio. With a strong flow of new work across London and the South East, the business needs someone who can take ownership of delivery, strengthen its installation resource and keep multiple projects running effectively.

This is a hands-on senior role with the opportunity to influence how projects, people and resources are managed as the company grows.

The Role

You will oversee commercial flooring projects from handover through to completion, working closely with clients, main contractors, the commercial team and installation teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall ownership of a portfolio of live commercial flooring projects.

• Allocating workloads and supporting Project Managers and Contracts Managers.

• Planning installation programmes, labour requirements and resources across multiple sites.

• Sourcing, coordinating and managing flooring fitters and subcontract installation teams.

• Building installation capacity to support new project wins.

• Monitoring progress, quality, costs and delivery against agreed programmes.

• Attending client and site meetings and resolving operational issues promptly.

• Working closely with estimating and commercial teams to support effective handovers and cost control.

• Improving operational systems and processes as workloads increase.

About You

Previous experience managing commercial flooring contracts is essential.

You could be an experienced Flooring Contracts Manager ready to step up, or already working as a Senior Contracts Manager, Operations Manager or Head of Projects within the flooring industry.

You will bring:

• A proven track record of delivering multiple commercial flooring projects.

• Strong knowledge of flooring installation, programming and labour planning.

• Experience managing flooring fitters and subcontract installation teams.

• The ability to prioritise workloads and lead teams across several live projects.

• Commercial awareness and confidence dealing with clients and main contractors.

• A practical approach to solving problems and taking responsibility for delivery.

An established network of reliable flooring fitters, subcontractors and installation teams would be a significant advantage.
