About the Role
Our client, a high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in West London, is seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of Science to lead a dynamic and successful department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious leader to drive innovation, raise attainment, and inspire a passion for science across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Science department (Chemistry, and Physics)
Lead, develop, and support a team of teaching staff to deliver outstanding lessons
Oversee curriculum design, implementation, and assessment across KS3–KS5
Monitor student progress and implement effective intervention strategies
Manage departmental resources, including laboratories and equipment
Promote STEM engagement and enrichment opportunities
Contribute to whole-school leadership and improvement planning
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in a Science discipline
Proven experience teaching Science up to KS5
Successful leadership experience within a secondary school setting
A track record of improving student outcomes and departmental performance
Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
A commitment to high standards and inclusive education
