Job Description:
We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading business operating within the fresh produce sector.
Based primarily at a new packhouse in Bridge, Canterbury, this is a multi-site role supporting managers and operational teams to maintain a safe, compliant and proactive working environment. You will work closely with the H&S Manager while taking ownership of key risk assessment, compliance and safety improvement activities.
Health & Safety Advisor Key Responsibilities
- Advise managers and supervisors on day-to-day health and safety matters.
- Lead and review risk assessments and support the development of safe systems of work.
- Help embed the Safety Management System across operational teams.
- Lead H&S meetings and regularly carry out site safety walks.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Assist with incident investigations and follow-up actions.
- Deliver health and safety initiatives, toolbox talks and training support.
- Manage contractor H&S requirements including RAMS, permits and site monitoring.
- Maintain statutory compliance records and monitor required inspections and testing.
- Analyse safety performance data and prepare reports.
Health & Safety Advisor Key Skills and Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate, essential.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within Health & Safety.
- Experience within food production or manufacturing would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Confident communication and influencing skills.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and Microsoft Office skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car, essential, due to travel between sites.
- Flexible approach to supporting operational requirements.
