Health and Safety Manager
Portsmouth | £70,000 + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional looking to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering long-term projects across the South East Hampshire and West Sussex?

Irwin and Colton are partnering with a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure business to recruit a Health and Safety Manager. Working across a portfolio of major utilities projects, this role will play a key part in supporting operational teams, driving continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of health and safety performance.

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for:

• Providing practical health and safety support across multiple live infrastructure projects.
• Working closely with operational teams to promote a positive safety culture and ensure best practice is embedded throughout the business.
• Carrying out site inspections, audits and reviews, identifying opportunities to improve standards and reduce risk.
• Supporting investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring lessons learned are shared across projects.
• Building strong working relationships with clients, contractors and other key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a Health and Safety position within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or a related construction environment.
• A NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence and engage with people at all levels.
• A proactive approach with the ability to manage a varied workload across multiple projects.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this position.
