Health and Safety Officer

Monday – Friday | Full Time |

£34,000 – £36,000 plus a number of benefits

Location – North of Goole

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business.

They are now looking to appoint a Health and Safety Officer to take full responsibility for the site’s Health and Safety function.

This is a genuinely influential role where you’ll help shape safety culture, strengthen compliance, and make a real impact across the operation.

The Role -

You will lead a proactive Health and Safety function, ensuring safe systems of work are understood, embedded, and continuously improved across the site.

You’ll act as the go-to person for Health and Safety, supporting management teams, advising staff, and driving practical improvements across the business.

Key Responsibilities -

• Provide clear, practical H&S guidance to senior leaders and line managers
• Support HR and Technical teams with safety aspects of internal and external audits
• Develop and implement Health & Safety plans in line with current legislation
• Create, review, and maintain H&S policies and procedures
• Conduct site inspections and drive corrective actions
• Ensure statutory inspections are completed (FLT, lifting equipment, fire systems, racking etc.)
• Lead accident and incident investigations
• Deliver training, inductions, and toolbox talks
• Promote near-miss reporting and maintain action logs
• Maintain COSHH data and safe operating procedures
• Develop emergency procedures and fire safety records
• Chair monthly H&S meetings and monitor KPIs

What We’re Looking For -

• NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
• Previous Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing or site-based environment
• Strong communication skills across all levels
• Practical, hands-on approach
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and influence others
