Position: Full-time, Permanent

An experienced Health & Safety Advisor - Electrical Contractor is required for an established electrical contracting business with over 40 years' experience and a workforce of 70+ employees. This is a hands-on, business-wide position covering health and safety strategy, training, site audits, RAMS, subcontractor compliance and ongoing improvement across the organisation.

The successful Health & Safety Advisor – Electrical Contractor will work closely with the Directors and operational teams, providing practical advice and helping to maintain a proactive safety culture across employees, subcontractors, live sites and client premises.

Salary and Package

Location

The role is predominantly based at the company's Head Office in Eastbourne, with regular travel to live sites and client premises.

Projects and contracts are primarily across Sussex, with occasional travel into Kent. The business works across a range of long-standing contracts, including NHS, local authority and social housing environments.

This is a permanent position reporting directly to the Directors, with responsibility for supporting Health & Safety across the wider business rather than being assigned to one specific project.

About the Company

The company is an established electrical contractor with over 40 years' experience and more than 70 employees, providing electrical, fire, security and renewable energy services. Its clients include NHS organisations, Brighton & Hove Council, East Sussex County Council, Eastbourne Borough Council and social housing providers, with additional contracts extending into Kent.

The business operates across commercial, public-sector and other client environments and has developed a strong portfolio of long-standing term contracts.

Why Join Them

This Health & Safety Advisor - Electrical Contractor position offers genuine influence over how Health & Safety is managed across an established business. Rather than focusing on a single project, you will have visibility across the company's wider operations and the opportunity to work directly with Directors on strategy, compliance and continuous improvement.

The role also provides scope to develop the company's training, audit and safety processes while working closely with site teams, employees, subcontractors and clients.

About the Role

The Health & Safety Advisor – Electrical Contractor will take a hands-on approach to maintaining and improving Health & Safety standards across the business. You will provide practical advice to Directors and managers, deliver training, undertake site inspections and audits, and ensure appropriate systems and processes are in place.

Key responsibilities will include:

You will need to be confident dealing with everyone from site operatives through to Directors, with a practical and approachable style that encourages good Health & Safety standards rather than simply policing compliance.

Summary

It would suit a practical Health & Safety professional who enjoys being visible across the operation and working closely with both management and site-based teams.
