HGV Class 1 Driver – Early Starts, Reading – Food Distribution
Temporary, Ad Hoc with Temp to Perm Opportunity

Are you an experienced HGV Class 1 driver looking for a new role in the vibrant Reading area? This exciting position involves trunk haulage only, perfect if you’re seeking a focused and rewarding driving role. Our client is a highly sought-after company specialising in food distribution, offering a minimum of 45 hours per week and a competitive salary ranging from £39,500 to £45,500 per annum.

Key responsibilities:

• Operate a Class 1 articulated HGV safely and efficiently, specialising in trunk haulage routes
• Maintain the vehicle to the highest standards, reporting any defects or issues promptly
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of food products, adhering to all safety and hygiene standards
• Complete all necessary paperwork including delivery notes and driver logs
• Communicate effectively with the transport team and warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations
• Comply with all relevant UK road traffic laws and company policies

What we’re looking for:

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with current CPC and digital tachograph card
• Proven experience in trunk haulage, preferably within food distribution
• Strong sense of responsibility and excellent timekeeping
• Ability to work early shifts and adapt to ad hoc scheduling demands
• Knowledge of Reading and surrounding areas is advantageous
