Job Description:

We are currently looking to recruit experienced Class 1 drivers to work within our busy transport department in Grimsby, as part of a cold store operation. Working 50 hours over any 5 days out of 7, with varying start times to meet the requirements of our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to statutory regulations governing road haulage.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and vehicle defect reporting.
• Keep vehicles clean (inside and out).
• Responsible for vehicles and loads.
• Checking Loading/Unloading.
• Reporting problems with deliveries.
• Responsible for obtaining signed receipts for deliveries and collections.
• Ensure maintenance of required load temperatures and load conditions.
• Ensure receipt of good pallets or PCV at delivery.
• Carry out security checks and ensure the security of vehicle and load.
• Carry out any other duties as laid down in the current issue of the ‘Driver’s Handbook’.
• Comply with company policies regarding ISO9002, BS7750, Health & Safety and Training.

Requirements:

• Previous experience driving an HGV
• Relevant licence to drive an HGV.
• Valid driver CPC
• A positive, flexible, can-do attitude
• A keen attention to detail and work accuracy.
• Good verbal communication skills
• Flexibility
• Willingness to do nights away is essential.
• For insurance purposes you must be 25 years of age or older and have held a licence for a minimum of 2 years.
