HGV Technician / GSE Mechanic (2 Vacancies) – Heathrow Airport

Salary:  £50,547 -£51,547 + Overtime (Time & Half) + Excellent Benefits

Location: Heathrow Airport

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Shift Pattern (4 on / 4 off)

We currently have 2 permanent vacancies available:

• 06:30 – 18:30 (Days) OR
• 14:00 – 02:00 (Late Shift)

HGV Technician / GSE Mechanic  About the Role

Our client is looking to recruit two experienced HGV Technicians / GSE Mechanics to join their established engineering team based at Heathrow Airport.

Working in a fast-paced airport environment, you'll be responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), ensuring critical vehicles remain safe, reliable and operational.

This role would suit candidates from HGV, PSV, commercial vehicle, plant, agricultural or military mechanical backgrounds.

HGV Technician / GSE Mechanic Duties

• Service, inspect and repair Ground Support Equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance
• Undertake reactive repairs to minimise downtime
• Complete all maintenance documentation accurately
• Work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures
• Liaise with colleagues to ensure fleet availability

HGV Technician / GSE Mechanic  Candidate Requirements

We're keen to hear from candidates with experience as:

HGV Technician

HGV Mechanic

PSV Technician

GSE Technician

Plant Fitter

Agricultural Engineer

Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic

Heavy Vehicle Technician

You'll ideally have:

• Mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent) or strong relevant experience
• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience working on commercial vehicles or heavy equipment
• Ability to obtain an Airside Pass (5-year employment history)
• Ability to pass a basic criminal record check
