Job Description:

Our client, a renowned commercial vehicle service provider based in Hayes, is actively seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their professional team. Duties of a HGV Technician:

• Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy goods vehicles, adhering to manufacturer procedures
• Perform fault diagnosis utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
• Assist in road tests, where HGV licences are held
• Ensure compliance with warranty procedures and accurately record all work undertaken
• Support parts department to ensure correct fitting of replacement parts
• Complete job cards and service sheets in accordance with Volvo standards
• Report vehicle defects and maintain workshop facility standards
• Support roadside breakdowns as required
• Contribute to the development of new trainees and apprentices

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician, ideally with Volvo experience but not essential
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills
• Proactive approach with excellent attention to safety and customer service
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred but not essential
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and follow health and safety guidelines
