HGV Technician
Scotstoun, Glasgow
£20.50 per hour + Enhanced Weekend Rate
£2,000 Joining Bonus
Hours: 37 Hours Per Week Day shift 6am or 7am Start time

We are recruiting for a skilled PSV Technician / HGV Technician to join a busy engineering team responsible for maintaining a modern fleet of buses. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking transport operator investing heavily in new technology, sustainable vehicles and employee development.
This role would suit candidates currently working as a PSV Technician, HGV Technician, Bus Technician, REME Engineer.
 
The Role of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician

• Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Identifying the correct repair methods and replacement parts.
• Using diagnostic equipment and handheld devices to record maintenance activities.
• Attending vehicle breakdowns and roadside recoveries when required.
• Carrying out vehicle road tests following repairs.
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety and compliance standards.
• Maintaining accurate workshop records and job documentation.

 
To be considered for the role of HGV Technician / PSV Technician

• NVQ Level 3, SVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience working on PSV, HGV, Bus, Coach or Commercial Vehicles.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• A flexible and proactive approach to work.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
