Job Description:

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a High Needs SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Chesterfield, working on a supply basis.

The school is part of a well-established and highly regarded multi-academy trust, with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs and providing an inclusive learning environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting pupils with high needs SEN and is confident in providing both educational and pastoral support.

As a High Needs SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the school's SEN team to support pupils with a range of additional needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with high needs SEN.
• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and reach their individual learning goals.
• Helping to manage behaviour and promote positive engagement in the classroom.
• Providing pastoral, emotional and practical support where required.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
• Supporting pupils in developing their confidence, independence and social skills.
• Following individual support plans and contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with high needs SEN.
• Experience supporting pupils with complex learning, behavioural or additional needs.
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• The ability to build strong and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification are desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.

The rate of pay for this position is £95-£120 per day, depending on experience and suitability for the role.

Candidates with strong, relevant experience working with high needs SEN, particularly those with a proven track record supporting pupils with complex needs, may be considered towards the higher end of the pay range.
