Salary: £108 - £125 per day, depending on experience

About the role and school

Teach Plus is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a full-time position at a welcoming primary school in Hounslow, starting ASAP. This Higher Level Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting a Year 1 class, assisting the class teacher with daily lessons, delivering targeted interventions to small groups of pupils, and covering classes in the teacher's absence. The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting pupils' academic progress, confidence, and development within a nurturing primary school environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the Year 1 class teacher with lesson delivery, classroom management, and daily learning activities.
• Deliver targeted interventions to small groups of pupils to support progress in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
• Cover classes in the teacher's absence, ensuring continuity of learning and effective classroom management.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils, including those requiring additional support.
• Promote positive behaviour, pupil engagement, and an inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with teachers and other members of staff.

Qualifications/Experience

• Experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
• Experience covering classes in the teacher's absence
• Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role
• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service
• Right to work in the UK
