What You'll Be Doing
As a Section Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering a range of highways projects including carriageway construction, surfacing, waterproofing structures, expansion joints, drainage, parapets, vehicle restraint systems (VRS) and ducting works.
You will be responsible for:
·Setting out using total stations, GPS equipment and traditional setting out methods including profiles, batter rails and pegs.
·Reading and interpreting construction drawings.
·Producing basic material take-offs.
·Raising technical queries with designers and client representatives where required.
·Carrying out inspections and testing to ensure works comply with design specifications and quality standards.
·Working in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality assurance procedures.
·Supporting the successful delivery of projects while maintaining excellent health, safety and environmental standards.
·Working across National Highways projects within the region, covering areas including Hampshire and Oxfordshire where required.
·Working a combination of day and night shifts to support project delivery.
What You'll Need
To be successful in this Section Engineer position, you will have:
·A minimum of two years' setting out experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
·Previous experience working on highways projects for a main contractor is desirable.
·Good knowledge of construction methods, specifications, ITPs and quality assurance processes.
·The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
·Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work independently.
·A valid CSCS Card.
·SSSTS certification.
·First Aid qualification.
·NRSWA qualification.
·CAT & Genny certification.
·A Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification is desirable.
·A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: Up to £45,000, dependent on experience.

Location & Career Development
The role is based around Guildford, with travel across National Highways projects throughout the surrounding region, including Hampshire and Oxfordshire. Both day and night working will be required depending on project requirements.
