🏡 Interim Housing Advisory Officer

📍 Lancashire | 🕒 12-Month Contract | 💼 Hybrid Working
💰 Rate: Negotiable

We’re currently partnering with a Local Authority in Lancashire to recruit an experienced Housing Advisory Officer on an interim basis for an initial 12-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy housing service, supporting residents with housing advice, homelessness prevention, and temporary accommodation solutions.

🧭 Working Arrangements

• Hybrid working model
• First 4 weeks fully onsite (Lancashire)
• Thereafter: 3 days per week in the office

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Assess applications under the Homelessness Reduction Act (HRA 2017)
• Manage a caseload across prevention and relief duties
• Develop and deliver Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs)
• Provide tailored housing advice to residents, including vulnerable individuals
• Independently assess and arrange Temporary Accommodation placements

🔍 Essential Experience

• Proven background in housing options / housing advice
• Experience working within a local authority setting
• Strong track record managing homelessness prevention and relief cases
• Confident handling caseloads and delivering positive outcomes for clients
• Experience assessing housing needs and booking Temporary Accommodation

💡 Key Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of housing systems, particularly Abritas (or similar platforms)
• Excellent communication and case management skills
• Ability to support vulnerable clients effectively
• Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
