A thriving and inclusive secondary school in Newham is seeking an organised, proactive and enthusiastic HR & Finance Administrative Assistant to join its dedicated Business Support Team. Working closely with the HR Officer and School Business Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school's HR and finance functions while helping to deliver an exceptional service to staff across the school.

As the HR & Finance Administrative Assistant, you will:

• Support the school's recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews and obtaining references.
• Assist with staff onboarding, inductions and safer recruitment compliance, including maintaining the Single Central Record and DBS documentation.
• Maintain accurate personnel records, staff absence records and HR databases.
• Provide administrative support for payroll changes, workforce census returns and HR reporting.
• Assist with Early Career Teacher (ECT) administration.
• Respond professionally to HR enquiries from staff.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the finance team and School Business Manager.
• Produce reports, maintain filing systems and support data management.
• Assist with GDPR compliance and support the school's Data Protection Officer.
• Work collaboratively across the Business Support Team to ensure efficient school operations.

• Previous experience in an HR, finance or administrative role.
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A professional, confidential and approachable manner.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.

Experience of working within a school environment, HR systems or finance administration would be advantageous but is not essential.
