Location: Vauxall, London (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
Hours: Full-time, 12-month maternity cover
Start Date: October 2026
Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a varied, hands-on role with plenty of responsibility? This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR Manager to join an established organisation, supporting both a commercial and private business across multiple locations.
The role:
You’ll be responsible for delivering day-to-day HR support across the full employee lifecycle, working closely with managers and employees across the business. This is a broad generalist role covering employee relations, recruitment, organisational change, HR operations, payroll and benefits, alongside managing and supporting an HR Administrator.
The role is based in Central London with hybrid working available. There will also be occasional travel to sites in Gloucestershire and Devon, typically once every few months as required.
Key responsibilities of an HR Manager:
Manage and deliver HR support across the full employee lifecycle
Provide advice and guidance to managers on day-to-day people matters
Manage employee relations including disciplinaries, grievances and performance management
Support organisational change and TUPE processes
Oversee recruitment across the business including job descriptions, advertising, CV selection, interviews and candidate feedback
Develop, review and implement HR policies, processes and manager guidance
Oversee HR operations, payroll and benefits administration
Work with external legal advisors on complex employment matters
Manage and support the HR Administrator
Maintain HR systems, reporting and employee data
Identify and implement improvements to HR processes and ways of working
Key skills of an HR Manager:
Strong generalist HR experience with knowledge across the full employee lifecycle
Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
Confident managing employee relations including disciplinaries, grievances and performance management
Experience advising and supporting managers on a range of people matters
Strong understanding of organisational change and TUPE
Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
Confident managing recruitment processes
Experience overseeing HR operations, payroll and employee benefits
Strong HRIS, reporting and data management skills
Previous line management experience
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Highly organised with the ability to manage a varied workload and competing priorities
Professional and confident handling sensitive and confidential matters
Proactive, practical and commercially aware approach to HR
