HSE Advisor - Boden, Sweden
Monday to Friday rotation | Accommodation & vehicle provided
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced HSE Advisor to join a major industrial construction project in Boden, Sweden.
This is a Monday to Friday site-based role, with accommodation and a project vehicle provided, supporting one of Europe's most significant green industrial developments. The position offers exposure to large-scale civils, structural, mechanical, E&I, utilities, hydrogen infrastructure, and commissioning activities within a high-profile heavy industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the project HSE management system across assigned work fronts
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and behavioural safety observations
- Monitor contractor compliance with Swedish legislation, EU directives, and project-specific HSE procedures
- Lead and support RAMS / method statement reviews, risk assessments, JSA/JHA, and task-based hazard identification
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, stand-downs, and workforce safety briefings
- Investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and environmental events, ensuring robust root-cause analysis and close-out
- Track corrective actions and ensure timely closure through the project reporting systems
- Support PTW, LOTO, hot works, confined space, lifting, excavation, and SIMOPS controls
- Coordinate closely with supervisors, construction managers, and subcontractors to embed safe planning into daily execution
- Support emergency preparedness drills, welfare standards, and site access compliance including ID06 workforce requirements
- Produce weekly and monthly HSE KPI reports
- Promote a proactive zero harm culture across multinational contractor teams
Project Scope Exposure
The role will support high-risk works across:
- heavy civils and foundations
- structural steel erection
- pipe racks and utilities
- hydrogen and gas systems
- water treatment packages
- electrical substations and cabling
- rotating equipment and process installations
- commissioning and energisation interfaces
- large-scale logistics and crane operations
Requirements
- NEBOSH Certificate / Diploma or equivalent
- Strong industrial construction project experience
- Previous HSE Advisor experience across steel, power, oil & gas, battery, hydrogen, mining, or data centre projects
- Strong PTW, RAMS, incident investigation, and contractor management background
- Fluent English
- Sweden / Nordic project exposure highly desirable
- ID06 awareness preferred
