Import Operations Coordinator (Freight Forwarding)

Gatwick Area
£26,500 - £32,000 (DOE)
Monday-Friday, 09:00-18:00

We're working with a well-established and growing freight forwarding business looking to add an Import Operations Coordinator to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with existing import experience, or a strong junior looking to build a long-term career within freight and logistics.

You'll be joining a busy, supportive team where you'll take ownership of shipments and play a key role in delivering a high level of service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing import shipments across Air, Road and Ocean freight
• Handling customer enquiries and providing job quotations
• Liaising with carriers, agents, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
• Processing shipments from start to finish
• Costing jobs and raising invoices
• Maintaining accurate records and managing your own workload
• Supporting warehouse operations where required

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within freight forwarding / import operations (preferred)
• Exposure to customs processes (CDS/CHIEF knowledge beneficial but not essential)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage your own desk and prioritise workload
• Confident IT skills
• A proactive and reliable approach
