We're looking for an ambitious Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our client’s growing Building Services team in North London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career while working on a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors.
You'll be involved in the design and delivery of electrical building services from concept through to completion, working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role
As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you'll contribute to a wide variety of projects, including:
- Commercial offices and mixed-use developments
- Residential developments (high-end and multi-unit)
- Ministry of Defence (MoD) projects
- Refurbishment and new-build schemes
You'll be responsible for producing electrical designs, calculations and technical documentation while coordinating with clients, architects and the wider design team.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical building services systems, including lighting, power, fire alarms, data and security systems.
- Prepare calculations, specifications, reports and technical drawings.
- Use industry-standard software to produce high-quality engineering designs.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects and external consultants.
- Attend client and design team meetings.
- Carry out site visits and inspections as required.
- Support senior engineers in delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
About You
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Around 2–3 years' experience within a Building Services consultancy.
- Experience working on commercial, residential or public sector projects (MoD experience is advantageous but not essential).
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
- Experience using AutoCAD and electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux or Relux.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Working towards professional membership (IET/CIBSE) is desirable.
